Training: From Falling Leaves to First Snow

The team takes a break on a fall training run.
Pulling the four-wheeler on crisp mornings, fall training began as the trees still clung to their leaves refusing to let go. Once refusing to fall, the leaves finally gave way long before the first snow fall of the season caught the team on a training run. Large flakes fell on the heads and tongues of the enthusiastic dogs. The first snow, as is often the case, melted shortly after falling and four-wheeler training would continue for many more days leaving AJ to truck to the hills in search for trails.

Chasing the snow, the team trucked to the hills.
At last, what we hoped for, talked about and wanted finally happened. The snow fell. And fell. Taking the thigh deep snowfall personally as he cleared our half-mile long driveway, AJ also knew that the ganglines would be moved from the four-wheeler to the sled.
